Mystic death or “mors mystica” is a term used by researchers in the field of comparative religion to denote a certain type of experience, characteristic of religious asceticism, mentioned in numerous spiritual traditions. Mystic death, expressed allegorically, is the renunciation of sin in any of its facets. This “death of the old man” leads to integration into the Self or Divinity. As mentioned, this term is of vital importance in the new understanding of healing, from the perspective of depth psychology, and through pneuma breathing sessions and expanded states of consciousness, we gain access to a deeper understanding of the dynamics and topography of the human psyche. In this article, we will attempt to delve into the fascinating journey through transpersonal states and also try to address some of the enigmatic revelations that appear in this process.
