🌍 The Art of Human Connection: Polyvagal Theory in Love and Sexuality
Location: Berlin, as part of the ETPA Annual Conference
Date: October 5, 2024
Time: 16:00 – 18:00
Workshop Duration: 2 hours
Join us at the ETPA Annual Conference 2024 in Berlin for a special experiential workshop, “The Art of Human Connection: Polyvagal Theory in Love and Sexuality,” led by Viorel Pasca, PhD, along with psychotherapists Livia Istrate and Alina Anghel.
This 2-hour interactive workshop will explore the powerful insights of polyvagal theory, deepening your understanding of how our autonomic nervous system (ANS) influences emotions, behavior, and our capacity for love and intimacy.
What to Expect
This workshop is fully experiential, incorporating mindfulness, meditation, movement, body techniques, and dance to engage participants in a dynamic, hands-on learning environment. Unlike traditional workshops, we will work without chairs, directly on the floor, in constant motion. Comfortable or athletic clothing is highly recommended for full participation.
Key Workshop Concepts
Participants will dive into the core principles of polyvagal theory, learning how physiological states affect our relationships:
- Neuroception – How the ANS unconsciously assesses safety or danger in our environment.
- Autonomic Hierarchy – The three states of the ANS: social engagement, fight/flight, and shutdown.
- Human Connection and Safety – How the feeling of safety influences our capacity for love, intimacy, and connection in relationships.
Who Should Attend?
This workshop is ideal for:
- Psychotherapists and counselors seeking to integrate polyvagal principles into their therapeutic practices.
- Relationship coaches looking for innovative ways to enhance connection between partners.
- Individuals and couples interested in understanding how safety and physiological states impact love and intimacy.
- Mindfulness practitioners exploring the mind-body connection in social behavior.
